OT Architect

The role of the OT - Operational Technology Architect is focused on the design, standardisation, and secure integration of operational technology systems (e.g., SCADA, PLC, DCS). 

The Operational Technology (OT) Architect is responsible for designing and governing the architecture of OT systems across industrial facilities to ensure they are reliable, secure, and aligned with business and operational goals. The role focuses on standardising OT platforms, integrating with enterprise systems where appropriate, and ensuring cybersecurity and compliance within the OT environment.


Key requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in electrical engineering, Control Systems Engineering, Industrial Automation, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in Operational Technology environments, including system design, integration, or engineering roles.
  • Proven experience architecting OT systems in industries such as manufacturing, utilities, mining, energy, or oil & gas.
  • Experience with industrial automation systems: SCADA, PLCs, DCS, HMI, historians.
  • Familiarity with integration to enterprise systems (e.g., MES, ERP) is an advantage.

Technical Skills:

  • Deep understanding of industrial communication protocols (OPC UA, Modbus, Profibus, Ethernet/IP).
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity practices and standards for OT environments (IEC 62443).
  • Familiarity with industrial networking and segmentation strategies.
  • Understanding of control system design principles and lifecycle management.
  • Exposure to IoT platforms and cloud integration is beneficial.
