Components Engineer - New product development
Core functions:
Core functions:
- Conducting the design, development and release of locally manufactured body/Trim/Electrical/Powertrain/HVAC/Chassis components
- Ensuring company products are engineered to local market requirements by designing, developing, testing and introducing locally manufactured components by adapting and developing German sourced designs to be compatible with local environment conditions and by issuing technical data in lune with the correct components engineering level.
- Apply sound knowledge of vehicle component systems
- Prepare, issue and maintain technical data for components and systems
- Support production, logistics, warranty and quality and assist with special investigations
- Specify, test and release components and systems to ensure adherence to internal and external requirements
- Coordinating testing and release of components and systems locally and at source
- Create track development and release timing plans, prepare development and release reports
- Evaluate and implement design changes and material cost saving ideas
- Support of suppliers throughout the development and localization phases
